I know I've seen it, but I have trouble defining this kind of love. And I'll flat out admit I haven't seen it often. It seems to be elusive.

I'll tell you some of the ways we do it at the Hamilton Dream Center where I have been going to church for the past 3-4 years.
Our web site is

This is from our web site and is a a brief summary of who we are:
Mission Statement:
To restore dreams & fill people with hope.
Our Beliefs:
The Hamilton Dream Center is committed to the powerful reality of God's love by fulfilling the "Greatest Commission" command by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our statements of fundamental truth are established from the Word of God. We are called to faith into the atoning blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Core Values:
* That all would come to know Jesus Christ and be Saved. (
2 Peter 3:9)
* To follow the
Matthew 25 principle: To care for our brothers and sisters.
o If they are hungry, feed them; body, soul and spirit.
o If they are thirsty, quench that thirst; body mind and spirit.
o If they are a stranger, take them in; be they a visitor, hurting, needy or lost.
o If they are naked, clothe them.
o If they are sick, visit them member or non member.
o If they are in prison, come to any need through visitation or correspondence.
* Teach all to live a Godly life for Christ walking worthy of the vocation in which we are called. (
Ephesians 4:1)
Things we have done lately:
-provide back packs and school supplies to several hundred children each year
-provide coats to children each fall. Some of those children have shown up at church with their coats dirty so someone washes and dries them for them while service is going on
-we've given out turkeys and bags of groceries for Thanksgiving
-On Wednesday nights we have about 100 children that are fed supper and then are ministered to in Super Kidz Church
-We have had a youth camp for one week during the summer with games, activities, plus some have gotten saved. The cost is about $100 per child and those who cannot afford it have been sponsored by some of us.
-we serve breakfast on Sunday mornings before the service
-we wrap and give out Christmas gifts to needy people base on their "wish list."
-We give out food and clothing and furniture as we can
-our pastor is called by local funeral homes to perform funerals for people who have no church
-our pastor visits and preaches at a local youth detention center
-One year we gave out smoke detectors and batteries
