MOW, I know what you are talking about but I would like to give another perspective perhaps on this issue.
I know of one Prophet who is in his elder years now, but when he was younger and ministering, not only would he fast and pray for hours on end, but he prefered to come to Church just before the preaching and would come with the Pastor and his wife & they wouldn't talk on the way to Church.
He would not talk to the Saints before Church.
He prefered it that way as he was able to minister more freely and would hear the voice of God more clearly.
After the service he would mingle with the Saints, joking a bit and enjoying the fellowship.
I hate the whole Body Guard thing. I think they are too enthralled by Hollywood types and somehow think it's necessary in the church. Ridiculous!
By the way, "honked off" will be Daniel's next Apostolic cussing example.
The individual I'm speaking of is only treated that way because he's seen in that light by others. He doesn't put himself there, but because others do, he has to be escorted to the pulpit or he'd never make it there.
He was hospitalized in another country and his website pleaded with people NOT to come see him! Can you imagine?
This guy has people literally follow him around the country to every conference he preaches at. It's those people who make things difficult and they are the reason the preacher has to be treated like royalty and escorted in the church.

I think that's a different scenario, Ron. He was trying to keep his mind clear and focused on God. And he probably wasn't flanked by bodyguards on both sides as he came in.

I have seen this a number of times. The speaker comes in late, is ushered in by body guards and is escorted out so that no one gets a chance to interact with him/her.
I really detest this. I think it smacks of pride and arrogance.
Is this really necessary?
What could possibly happen to a minister that they need THAT kind of protection?
So do they just come in, minister, get their offering and then split?
This really HONKS me off!!!! (could you tell?)
If you don't like this...Never Visit Nate Wilsons Church.. he has a sqaud of Body Gaurds called some sort of name.. and you don't get near him unless your invited by him.. if you want to talk with him you have to tell them first... it's is sickening to say the least!!!
I have never had the pleasure of having to ask to talk to him he invited me.I knew when one of them came back and gave me a note he wrote....
but they head folks off at the pass when they approach him...

Sorry, but this is just totally goofy. How many does this church run anyway?

I could probably almost understand this for a real "celebrity" in Christianity, but I have seen too many wannabe's who didn't need security any more than a Robin needed an ocean to swim in!
It was laughable to see them with their "amor bearers" with the headsets in their ears etc. In all honesty, I was embarrassed for them.
