So now you are utilizing preemptive strikes in your thread responses!
I don't usually BLAME Republicans for anything as much as I try to defend President Obama.

He did that because the Republicans in Congress let the sequestration cuts happen.
It appears to me that it was a political ploy by Obama that didn't work the way he intended.
He didn't intend for sequestration to happen but it did. He planned the sequestration to be so bad that the Repubs would not allow it to happen.
The Washington Times has already stated that the sequestration was Obama's plan.
Boehner penned a piece in the WSJ calling sequestration "bad".

I believe we're stuck on semantics. The sequestration was not obama's idea, it was the idea of Gene Sperling who was the National Economic Council Director. Sperling proposed it as a way to get Republicans to give obama all he wanted in the BCA of 2011.
And yes, the Republicans didn't like the sequester at first, because the sequestration only cut federal agencies and defense and military spending, the Republicans were reluctant but agreed to it, hoping they could get obama to keep his word and pass a balanced budget amendment. But true to his character, obama reneged on his promises, and instead of getting a balanced budget bill, where cuts could be done right, this was a scorched earth type cut. Shockingly none of the Democrats pet programs or social services were included in the sequestration.

If you can, then you must give him credit for the improvements that have happened that have helped millions of other Americans. There are some who appear to only want to blame the President and that isn't wise or realistic.

A bunch of part time jobs, JD. Whoopee. It's all spin.
Who has he helped? Obamacare? Yeah. Black unemployment at record highs. What help?

president obama will push to "fully reverse" the so-called sequester cuts and significantly raise government spending caps as part of his upcoming budget plan

Quote:
according to white house officials, obama plans to call for a complete overhaul when he addresses the house democratic caucus in philadelphia thursday evening. Obama's budget, to be formally released monday, will call for $74 billion more than the levels frozen in place by sequestration, representing a 7 percent increase.

obama is calling for $530 billion in spending -- an increase of $37 billion.

That is the mantra. The only reason the defecit may have shrunk a little is because spending has not yet caught up with the increased revenue.
