I don't understand church boards and congregations which turn a blind to sins committed by the Pastor and continue to allow them in the pulpit.
Charles Jenkins is Pastor of the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago after Clay Evans retired. He confessed to an 8-year long affair with his executive assistant and yet is still the Pastor. IIRC, he didn't even take time off as most do. When the lady hired an attorney to sue him for breach of contract after he fired her when she stopped the affair, he confessed to the church, named her and claimed she was trying to extort him.
He's a talented singer and his new album has been nominated for multiple Dove Award nominations.
How is it Michael English is publicly condemned and his music pulled from the radio after his affair, yet this "Pastor" carries on an 8-year affair and is still celebrated as some man of God.

There's so much world in some church circles it's dizzying!
One congregant/nutcase on Preachers of LA said the fact his pastor was adulterous encouraged him knowing that if leaders are susceptible to sin, and they carry on, then he can make it, too!

I think the bible is pretty plain that good can come from sin.

Wow. No wonder people mock the ministry and aren't surprised at moral failures.
n david, I am, a board member of a church. a number of years ago we had a situation occur that involved the pastor and moral issues.
we dealt with it immediately worked hard to protect the family and protect the church.
There were a number of members who were quite upset that we had requested the pastors resignation, and informed the organization.
These things were required by our by-laws and morally are the correct things to do. yet there were a number of people that to this day believe the injustice was done by the church board. INCLUDING the former pastor who has said so from various pulpits that have been happy to stand with him.
its mind boggling.

Wages of sin is death. Nothing good comes from sin.
Please explain.
Thanks a lot.
