Re: Sinaticus problematicus
About a year ago, while at work, in the breakroom, during lunch, I listened to a young man, about twenty years old, I suppose, holding his entire table in rapt attention about what it's like to be a soldier who has gone off to war. He was quite eloquent and obviously a very charismatic and engaging speaker. A lot of what he said was true, as far as I could guess. However...
...I didn't have it in me at the time to break up the discussion by asking him which branch of the USA military he was, or had been in (which was none) and what it was like to be a soldier in/during war (something he's never experienced). But the humor wasn't missed by me, one bit.
This is how idiocy is reproduced in every generation. Sophomoric attempts at expertise get us nowhere.

Re: Sinaticus problematicus
Does anyone have information refuting the documentation in this thread, or in the links that were provided?

Re: Sinaticus problematicus
codexsinaiticus.org would be a great place to start.

Re: Sinaticus problematicus
The Codex is so plagued with scribal errors that quite a few younger manuscripts are more accurate. It doesn't mean that Tishchendof fabricated the Codex. Just means that he came into possession of an ancient bad copy, of copies.

Re: Sinaticus problematicus
Scribal errors ? Every Greek manuscript of the NT has scribal errors. How many is too many ?
This manuscript had editors or correctors. Others did not.

It is like this, I myself don't believe the Sinaiticus is a forgery, I see it as a really bad collections of manuscripts. I also (my own personal opinion) believe that the codex isn't made up of a complete library of Bible books which were created all during the same time. But pretty much a collection which was tossed together over the years. The scribal errors aren't just a few, but the entire codex is swamped with scribal mistakes. But, this as you should know and understand isn't how we detect the accuracy of any manuscript. But go through all different manuscripts to find how they agree with each other "up" through the years. I mean, this is just a LXX codex. Try looking at the evolution of the Masoretic text.
