I used to skin every possum I could get my hands on when I was a kid. They brought a dollar a piece, and I have skinned a jillion of them.

There was a long standing debate going between my uncle and me over whether possum fat or coon fat was better to grease your boots with.

I preferred coon fat, while he staunchly insisted that possum was superiour.

When you skin the critter, you just cut off a hunk of fat from the the carcass, and rub it on your boots. It greases and waterproofs them nicely.

So anyway, your wife's monicker for me wasn't completely off. I used to catch them by the tow sack full.

We would take tow sacks with us when we would go possum hunting, because there were an abundance of them, and we could carry them out more easily in a sack than by hand.

I am an expert on all kinds of things that have no real marketable value.

I do believe we are going to have a good time...at least I sure will.

I have already been talking with the Lord about a few things.
