He actually confirmed that he believed that it wasn’t Pence’s responsibility to do anything but count and present the votes as per the Constitution. That was also Mike Lee’s opinion as well.

As long as they have been consistent in such a belief, I cannot fault them, though I disagree with their interpretation. I heard one Congressman from Texas, a Trump supporter, give the same argument. He feared Democrats would use such a precedent in the future if we did it to Biden. But the Dems will probably do it anyway, and not get called on it.
