There is an "etc." there.

Some additional possible reasons:

1.) Posted a topic in the wrong forum, so deleted it and reposted it in the correct location.

2.) Asked a question then answered it yourself immediately after posting.

3.) Any other reason that doesn't involve sniping another member then hiding behind the delete option.

You know, the fact that this is even being questioned in this manner, like it's a bad or unnecessary thing, is, in my opinion, shameful.

Here the admins are trying to address a real concern that is actually happening whether anyone realizes it or not, in order to help the community be a better place, and to be our brother's keeper, to help a brother or sister think before they post, if what they're going to post isn't in line with standard Christian decorum, or be upfront and confess and apologize if they do so, and it's being taken lightly like it's some kind of joke.

There is another optional reason.. Saying something mean and then realizing it is not right, so deleting the comment in a spirit of repentance.
