Re: Is Dolly Parton Pentecostal?
Seems though I remember Elder Bayles saying that he pastored Dolly's Aunt and Uncle.
Elder Bayles did live in TN.
I think Elder Bayles got the Holy Ghost under Pastor Moore of LA, you know the fellow that was in the Branham meetings.

Re: Is Dolly Parton Pentecostal?
I did talk to Elder Bailes on the phone before he died.
He did have a ministerial fellowship at one time.

I remember Walter Bailes also. He passed away some years ago. I did enjoy talking with him about his history. Dolly's grandpa is a legend here around The Smokys. The family does have a Pentecostal background. Trinitarian. The grandpa was conservative in his standards but you wouldn't know it by Dolly. She says, "It takes a lot of money to look this cheap!"

I made a comment about it previously here.
I'll just copy it again below, for simplicity's sake: Even back in March 1999, it was evident on this Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) broadcast, in which Bishop Noel Jones (Oneness Pentecostal) and Bishop Clarence McClendon (Trinitarian Pentecostal) discussed how to not let the doctrinal differences be a dividing wall between the two groups:
Noel Jones speaking:
and then I’m going to become so Oneness in my presentation that I eliminate the revelatory distinction between Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Okay) And if I’m fighting Oneness, I’ve become so extreme in my attitude that I make three Gods, you see so, so, we go from one extreme to the other extreme, instead of coming together on the premise that I need your theology and you need my theology (C. M. "absolutely") to round [sic] the body of Christ (C. M. "absolutely"). So, let’s sit down together and let’s restate the Godhead in terms that are cohesive, comprehensible, so that all of us can grasp it. Then, after we baptize and after people receive the Holy Spirit, then let’s get up and do what Romans tells us to do to: transform people by the renewing of their minds (claps from audience).

Last May we preached for a Suffragan Bishop of the PAW and he told us they were having trouble with Noel because he baptizes in Jesus name or Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

I'm in CA. and just heard (not sure and do not have facts) that he told his staff that he is giving up
his church at the end of the year. He hopes to turn it over to Liston Page from NYC (of NJ?).
so I was told.... I have asked around to verify this but haven't heard if its fact as of yet, but if it is,
it will be interesting

From what I also read, her family was church of God. Who knows.

At first glance, I have to wonder how true that is. But if it is true, I'm surprised they haven't kicked him out of the organization.
Makes me wonder if he's one of those guys who now blends both formulas (such as " in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost, in Jesus name" ....or..... " in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost, which is Jesus")
