is perfectly fine and acceptable. I'm not a fan of gaudy makeup, but I think that women who can apply makeup naturally and tastefully are fine.
As far as why, I agree with some of what Rhoni said-in order to accentuate features and cover blemishes, along with evening out skin tone. Then again, I completely understand and respect those who don't wear makeup as well.

I rarely wear make-up but I do feel better about my appearance when I have it on. It makes me feel pretty and girly. My every day look is T-shirt, jeans, and running a brush through my hair.
If I didn't attend a conservative church I would absolutely wear makeup. Why? Because I'm a girly-girl, and I love beautiful, feminine, girly things. I love everything about looking feminine..... curling my hair, high-heel shoes (and all sorts of other shoes), beautiful clothes, cute purses. To me, makeup is just part of that package.
I'm not arguing with YOU about the 'like God made me' thing... you're entitled to your convictions and opinions. But I disagree with it. When I curl my stick-straight hair, I'm changing the way God made me. Same goes for shaving my legs, and shaping my nails. As for aging.... we're part of a dying world, and aging is part of it. It's part of the decay of this world. As part of the aging process, our eyesight starts dimming, we can start losing our hearing, our teeth start rotting and falling out... yet no one says that we just have to accept how God made us. We get glasses, hearing aids, and fix our teeth or get new ones.
Makeup is not intended to change how God made you anyway, just enhance it. Just like having a nice hairstyle.
Some people have very red, splotchy skin. A thin coat of foundation can even out the skin tone. Why is that a sin? I believe we give glory to God by looking our best.
Same thing about jewelry. It's beautiful, I love beautiful things. The Bible says that God would shower his bride with jewels.
Those are my reasons.
Great post, well reasoned. I agree, I don't think God is in any way glorified when we do not do the best we can with what we got. I recently saw an old friend that I had not seen in quite a while, most of his teeth were missing, it was very sad. Can we be obsessed with our appearance? Absolutely, but within reason we should look as good as possible, this actually reflects a desire to be HOW God made us.
A thought comes to mind, "...I would not have you to be ignorant..."

I am a firm believer in the Old Paths
Articles on such subjects as "The New Birth," will be accepted, whether they teach that the new birth takes place before baptism in water and Spirit, or that the new birth consists of baptism of water and Spirit. - THE PENTECOSTAL HERALD Dec. 1945

AQP do you just not want to rock the boat at your church how come you would not go to your conservative church with makeup if you fill it is ok to wear it... KWSS1976;
God knew your motive before you did what you did, and HE knew the
intent of your heart for doing it! Wonder what God thought about that.
Sis falla I know God knew what I was going to do before I did it and he was fine with it seeing how he did not put anything in the bible regarding the issue..
