I thought AMF was a car.

Maybe you're think AMC? AMF used to make bowling balls and bowling pin setting equipment.
Either way, they are examples of how organizations can go down the drain without good leadership.

Doesn't AMF stand for Apostolic Ministers Fellowship?
an organization that was established by a group of ministers who left the UPC when Murray Burr did not win the position of General Superintendent?

From the story I got from a UPCI pastor/uncle in S. Texas district who has been there 40 years now apparently it was Burr or Guidroz for the Texas DS position.
He believed in absolute pastoral authority and Guidroz taught in limited church democracy to put things up for vote.
That was the ostensible reason that was held out initially as their major bone of contention but it was really a personal thing between two guys going for a position who used it as cover for their fighting. Later there were added other things when he lost and decided to pull the ultra-cons with him in to the AMF.

Re: I was asked to leave AMF for Apostolic Ministr
Well, This has turned into an interesting thread. I am thankful for good men and women that are balanced and don't want to argue all the time. Who has the time to sit at a computer all day and night and argue about everyone going to hell but them?
Some of us are busy demonstrating Apostolic Ministry while many are sitting talking about it.
I would much rather have Apostolic Demonstration over enunciation all day!
Who in this world could be critical of the Alvear's??? They win more people in one day than most of these guys have in a lifetime.
It makes me so thankful for where I am and what I know.

gimme a break.
And that forum booted you because you we're bringing to many souls to the Lord?
I'm guessing it was more like you were bringing to much arogancy to the forum.

Your guess is wrong. The arrogance was on the part of others who sit all day on computers to spread hate and gossip about their own brothers who they can't get along with. The fact is - I am not in their little box and have Apostolic results every week. That is what they hate.
They can't get along with those that look and do and believe just like they are supposed too so how on earth would they get along with someone outside their box?
It is so easy to be critical from the bleachers!

Attaboy, shag.
But you really need to have experienced that forum yourself to truly understand "arogancy." Read a "cut-and-paste" from a thread over "there."
