Apostolic Study Bible
I have been interested in producing an Apostolic Study Bible for years, I would love to know how much interest there would be in having one if it was available and having input on features that folks would like to see in the study notes.
I recently bought a new bible and it has a great format and awesome notes and it re-sparked my interest in this project.
Please give my feedback if your interested!

Re: Apostolic Study Bible
So do you mean Apostolic in the Godhead and the new birth? Or Apostolic as in the full counsel of God?

Re: Apostolic Study Bible
I had done one from home over the computer, sorta like a correspondance course. stuff went realy deep. I let my pastor look at it.
But being honest it was some times difficult to understand and follow. exspecially the test which was like a college entry type.
Keep them simple and focus on onething at a time. done skip around on topic with in a topic.
I.E. if you talk about baptism stay on baptism.
We have a 15 or 16 lessons reffered to as discipleship courses. very similiar to what your wanting todo. So they can be good.

Re: Apostolic Study Bible
Apostolics can't even agree among ourselves on what is Apostolic and what is not. Would it be three-stepper or one-stepper as far as salvation? Would it emphasize cookie cutter clothesline holiness? What about eschatology --we (Apostolics) vary all over the map on that. What about tv, movies, DVD's, and computers? How much if any jewelry would be allowed. Would it recognize people as saved if they are outside the UPC?
Pentecostal Publishing House offers a Thompson Chain Bible edition which contains a 32 page insert on Oneness doctrine.

i wouldnt mind the 1940s upc 1 stepper bible study myself. Im not the big fan of the 3 step view.
though the three step view wouldnt bother me so bad, its just the evidence part they tend to tack on at the end i dont agree with. as i dont agree its the only sign of the Holy spirit, is it a sign yes, the only one ?? no

What is the sign that a new baby is alive. The initial sign? A certain sound.
A cry from it's innermost being. There will be other signs as the child in fed,
nurtured and cared for. There will be signs of growth, just as a tree grows.
In the fulness of time when that child/tree becomes fully mature, it will bear
fruit. You will know it by what it produces/reproduces. The fruit doesn't fall
far from the tree. There may be hinderances in the child's/tree's growth, but
you will know them by their fruit. Good fruit comes from a good tree. If a child
is "trained up in the way it SHOULD go, by the parents, and when it becomes
an adult, and becomes born again, it should be like the mature, godly parents
that produced it. There will be stages of growth, and just as there are stages
of natural growth, there will be stages of spiritual growth.
My thoughts anyway.

Just as a side note. It's not a question of a sign or many, but of the initial sign as opposed to ongoing signs.

What Study Bible did you buy?
What do you like about it?
I have several study Bibles.
I have the
MacArthur Study Bible (John MacArthur)
Prophecy Study Bible (John Hagee)
1599 Geneva Study Bible (not really a study Bible but has lots of notes in it)
Spirit Filled Life Bible (Jack Hayford, General Editor)
I recently purchased the Life In The Spirit Study Bible for my wife
I have recommended both the Spirit Filled Life Bible and the Life in the Spirit Study Bible to people and have given away copies of both.
