I didn't begin listening to Christian music until after I was baptized in Jesus' name and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost (20 years ago today). I don't know what the deal was with that stuff. The only thing I could listen to peacefully was gospel and choir music.

Even today, some CCM songs on the radio do that to me, or I find them nauseating.

I used to listen to "Family Radio" or whatever you call the music station that plays the up-to-date sounding and the traditional sounding hymnal music-- real peaceful, quiet, simple and inspiring.

There was one night I remember, some time in 2004, I was working the overnight shift doing security in Orlando at the Lynx bus depot. I had some of those songs playing and I am convinced the Lord really ministered to me that night through those songs.

If I had turned on "Z88.3" in those moments, I would have missed out on those precious moments with the Lord that night.

Unless, maybe the Lord was reaching for me, drawing me to Him, and He would have used whatever I was listening to reach out to me for communion that night.

Besides DC Talk, Jesus Christ has used the music of 4Him to bless me too.
