He didn't die from covid, he died because it was time. God used the flu to punch his ticket but if not the flu then it would have been something else.

God allowed it, but he absolutely did die from covid. Without it, he'd still be alive today.

Recently heard a Church in Florida who has a "magic monday" program has went back to online only because of 75 Covid cases.

No, from a literal medical standpoint he died from something else complicated by covid. Covid is just another flu. He had other issues.
From a Christian perspective it was his time to go.
The Bible says.... it is appointed man once to die. It was this good Brother's time.
