Oh, wait, that's when you were anti-Oneness too.
Friendly reminder - if you're working thru your issues, that's your business, but you may want to be a little less vociferous about your positions until they're a bit more finalized.
But Mike, they are finalized.......today.

Yeah, Yeah, I know.............he feels strongly BOTH ways.
He came to the fork in the road, and took it.
Poor guy.

God's standards do not change. And He will always have a church, and a people that are separate from the world. Whether we like the way they look are not, God knows His children. And they know Him and listen to His voice. And they will be a holy people.

I have not taken the time to read all the post on this thread. However being raised in a UPC church I have often questioned the standards they have set forth mainly on women. If you walk in the largest mall in your city pick out a Pentecostal man. Then pick out a Pentecostal lady. It is almost impossible to find the man. It seems to me that some one with controll issues or sexual issues set forth these standards. When making thier point about dresses and skirts they always reference the scripture about a woman not wearing mans apparel. But if you study this scripture it is talking about what we would call crossdressing in todays culture. This was done in the days of Sodom to fool the same sex so they could fulfill thier homosexual urges. Then they sat its about modesty. So a dress or skirt that has an open bottem that you have to watch when sitting or when the wind blows is more modest than a pair of pants that covers both legs no matterwhat position you are in. I have studied and studied and I have never seen where they get this from.

I took care of a Pentecostal lady today. She had lots of Pentecostal visitors.
I asked what church she attended. She told me a local Trinity Pentecostal church.
We talked on and off all day and told her where my kids attend church (I was doing her hair, which is long and uncut and was telling her about my daughter who has very long hair and no longer cuts hers, and she asked if she was Pentecostal).
Her husband looks at me, in my scrubs, and says, What happened to Mom?
I ignored his question, instead telling them where I attend church.
I don't get into specifics with patients and wasn't about to do it with them.
But I was thinking, wow, even in the Trinity Pentecostal church, they look to the outside when it comes to being saved.
Not once did they ask if I'd ever been baptized, spoke in tongues, nothing like that.

Ouch!!!
I remember when it was a sin to read the comics. But in the 70's there was a home bible study in a comic format without the wordy bubbles.
There is no way a person can serioudly justify the abomination of legalism.

My wife and I were observing a lady we know from a upci church talking with the cashier. They were speaking for a little extra while. My wife made the comment that the cashier looked pentecostal. I didn't say anything. About 10 minutes later, we went through the checkout about 4 registers down from the cashier my wife was observing. From that angle the woman was wearing pants.
I told my wife it appears the woman was pentecostal from the waist up, but a pagan from the butt down. My wife learned a valuable lesson not to judge by appearance. It is something the legalists need to learn and learn quickly.
