I've had an awful lot of people in my adult life tell me I SHOULDN'T wear make-up, I SHOULD wear skirts or dresses and I SHOULDN'T wear jewelry or cut my hair.
Guess they weren't right either. We all have to find our own way. It is true that we shouldn't allow peer pressure to make our decisions.

You don't believe in positive peer pressure?

There are some things I don't have to think about anymore. If a person cannot accept me the way I dress and for the person I am today, not yesterday...doesn't matter if it is friend or family...I just do my own thing and if they want to be with me...then the option is theirs. The same goes for dating. I am not going to pretend to be anything I'm not. I think with age I have come to realize that the stress is not worth it.

Good works would not fit into the dress standards category...unless you are UC

Re: Why do you wear makeup, if you do?
Depends on what you call make up. When I have time, I use the new mineral make up. It's actually cruched minerals in powder form, and has natural sun block too. You use a brush and apply all over your face. As a rule it does not look like make up.
For me the purpose is to even skin tone. As I age my natural skin color is not as even and it just enhances your appearance.
I don't add any thing else. Lip gloss maybe for spf protection and to avoid dry lips.

Re: Why do you wear makeup, if you do?
Properly applied make up is not obvious. There may be ladies you see at work and church wearing make up and you were not even aware.
If the make up is truly out there.....it's stage make up or .........not applied properly.
