Re: Why do you wear makeup, if you do?

I wear rings, watches (many watches, all colors), occassionaly bracelets or necklaces.Why?
It's fun. It looks pretty. I enjoy it.

Many years ago it was the thing for all the ladies to have a bright pretty scarf on their dress.....UPC acceptable necklace

Before you laugh at me, consider the context of my remarks.

Positive Peer Pressure. That was what I was addressing. Period.

And yes, a modest woman whom people look up to could influence younger women to want to desire to also be modest. This is GOOD WORKS. You're exclusive interpretation of "good works" to mean feeding the poor is quite limited.

Heb 10
24And(AF) let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25(AG) not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and(AH) all the more as you see(AI) the Day drawing near. 26For(AJ) if we go on sinning deliberately(AK) after receiving the knowledge of the truth,(AL) there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27(AM) but a fearful expectation of judgment, and(AN) a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. 28(AO) Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy(AP) on the evidence of two or three witnesses. 29How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one(AQ) who has spurned the Son of God, and has profaned(AR) the blood of the covenant(AS) by which he was sanctified, and has(AT) outraged the Spirit of grace? 30For we know him who said,(AU) "Vengeance is mine; I will repay." And again,(AV) "The Lord will judge his people." 31(AW) It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Oh please...don't get preachy. The older women are an example to younger women, and modesty is in dress as well as in conversation, but the Bible teaches modesty and moderation - NOT homliness and abstinance.

We always found a way to look beautiful:
* expensive outfits
* putting DR Pepper Lip gloss on our cheeks for rouge
* Pins, scarves
* stupid hairdoes...like the ones I have seen on face book.
* expensive watches with diamonds in them in place of engagement rings
* trimming your hair but wearing it up for 3 months til it wasn't so noticable anymore

For the life of me I can't figure out the attitude.

What are you arguing? Beyond me. Positive Peer Pressure is a good thing and a biblical thing. That's all I've tried to claim.

Hope your day is better.

Laughing? "Stupid hairdoes" like others you've seen?
Regardless of your opinion, you're attitude is off, Rhoni. You've only proven that when you were in UPC you lived as a hypocrite, yet you want to say "we" as to blanket that on everyone. Please don't go there and then laugh about it.

That's why women wear makeup isn't it, they are out hunting!
