"Bretheren, Pray for us."
1 Thess 5:25
"Christ is not a product to be marketed, but rather a person to be made known!"
Love is often expressed through actions. We have been so blessed to have several good helpers (farmhands) helping plant cassava and clean up another portion of the land. Most of the work has been done despite the rain! Other helpers in the favela area taking soup to the hungry. This area is often dangerous and a place where gang fights break out!
Last Sunday night we almost slid off one of the little wooden bridges coming home from the Farm Project. Rains have been steady for well over a month now…little sun and the road is very slippery. There are mountains characterized by deep ravines, steep slopes that we must go over! God has been so faithful to help us and protect us on these journeys. We often wonder if we will be blocked and killed by murderous bandits that roam the area. You would just have to see how the road gets to believe it! This old van of ours has a sunroof and since it is old, and we live in what is called a salty area it has rusted out where it is supposed to seal so if it rains outside it rains inside!
In all the challenges in the world, the reality remains that reflecting the character of God in our circles of influence is the salt and light we are called to produce! There is a little boy maybe 3 years old that according to others his father (?) is a dangerous prisoner and he and his little mother are hidden out there in the backlands very close to the farm project (?). He calls me on his mother’s what’s app and sings to me! Perhaps he will be one of God’s preachers someday and lead other out of such a perilous life.
The word “help” is found ten times in the New Testament. In some instances, it is used in reference to God helping us and, in other instances, in our help to others. Missions is all about helping people. Paul
was given a vision of people in need, and the Bible says in
Acts 16:9, “And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, come over into Macedonia, and help us.” I think many have seen the need to help but have never responded. We want to be a part of the company that does.
We thank God for those who have partnered with our ministry over the years, and we know that there is a great reward for you in Heaven.
Pastor Tony in the state of Pernambuco that helps us so much had bad luck and the motor of his car went out Sunday. We were able to raise money to have it towed back to the area where he lives but we must raise funds to rebuild the motor as Pastor Tony is not working due to some serious health problems now. Any help for him would be deeply appreciated. Please earmark your offering.
Thank you for partnering with us as we proclaim Christ to many hundreds of people all over Brazil.
At the present we are in several building projects please always pray for the safety of those that work on these projects.
As soon as the rains stop, we will be working on the Cassava project.
