Exactly!
PO, if I wanted to, I could make a doctrine just out of what the Bible says about baptism. I could leave out everything it says about believing, everything it says about repenting, and everything it says about everything else. Guess what, though? It wouldn't make the doctrine right. We need to take everything God teaches in His word about any given topic to end up with sound doctrine.

"Feel" is a good choice of words, Renda. I haven't voted, yet.

If all we do is believe, this scripture seems irrelevant!
Ron did you even read the whole chapter there? Cause that verse read by itself seems to say onething, but read the whole thing and you will see that at first glance what you saw is not actually there. nice try

You are right, Rico. When I study out "believing" I see it too heads back to Acts 2:38.

You don't get it. These folks think you get the Spirit the nanosecond you believe.

Yes, I did get that. I believed that when I was a Baptist. They taught that you knew because you felt good. I felt good when I was drunk too and it wasn't new wine.

I hadn't planned on voting. But if there is a tie, I might wait to break it.

What you said happened to you is not scriptural. God in all His wisdom removes sin when we ask, not when you are baptized. When you turn to Him and give your life to Him you change. The change in your life is made at the time of your choice to follow.
