Really... cool....

My alto is broken right now. It gave up the ghost after 27 years of playing it. It is a King Super 20. I bought it in 1979.

I have a soprano bult around 1926. Silver plated on the outside and goldwashed on the inside of the bell. It is the Chu Berry Soprano. A guy was selling it for $25 and I talked him down to $20.

I have a tenor which is also silver plated on the outside and goldwashed on the inside of the bell and it is a PerfekTone C Melody Tenor sax. I got it for a little under $200 off of ebay.

I am going to eventually try and find a silver plated/goldwashed alto and have a 3 piece set.

Speaking of a Sax player, you should have heard the Boston Brass play at

Denver Stanford, Jr's funeral last Saturday! It was the most unusual

funeral I have attended. Sis. Kathy Hernandez (Eli) played sax with the group

and then they highlighted her alone. Rev. Henry Wasserman, sax Bro. Sam

Kelly (Denver)trumbone, Denny Hahn, keyboard, I can't remember all the

players but it was very good!!! I am sure Bro. Stanford, Jr. would have loved

it!!

Blessings,

Yes, and she did! Also Henry Wasserman, who I did not know

but he reminded me of Denver Stanford, Jr. playing his saxophone.

The Bro. Sam Kelly from Denver, said that Bro. Stanford, Jr. was

talking about securing an outdoor amphi-theatre to have a Concert.

It seated 10,000. He had gone to Denver, Colo. and played with

Bro. Kelly and others and thought they could have a good concert.

Obviously, that was not to be!

Blessings,

The things we don't know about each other.

I have a soprano, Alto and tenor.

My tenor is a selmer (not a Mark) but my Alto is an old Cleavland (made by King Craftsmen is in small script) made by the H.N. White Co. of Cleavland, OH. It has been mine for 37 years and I bought it used in a pawn shop. I am estimating that it is over 50 years old. and my soprano is an inexpensive model by Jean Erich.

Love to play and worship while playing!

I pawned my alto sax (my dad was upset)... I played in school band. I really don't remember how to play much... it has been years since I've picked one up. I was told I have the best lungs for it.... I just use them for singing now.

It is my favorite music though... just love to hear a good sax.

I play mine every sunday. I just love it.

The church I am working with now plays mostly old hymnal songs. No problem with that but I really miss really getting into some of the newer songs.
