1) there are credible threats to this country all the time;
2) if limited to only after a credible threat received, it would be too little too late.
3) you say you fear SCOTUS is forgetting about the 4th's intent -- that's debatable. I believe the founders would allow for what is currently being done.

It could be argued that there is always a threat, so why not just remain in a continual state of martial law? There has to be some defined boundaries. I'm not seeing any push for such boundaries. Anyone who would trade liberty for security deserves neither.

Nothing out of the ordinary for our day and hour. He's a supporter of corporate personhood and has not ruled to curtail corporate power. He's not alone in this by any stretch of the imagination. Both Democrats and Republicans are owned by their corporate masters. That's just the way it is.
