Please pray for grieving family (L)

The name Stuart Bishop won't mean anything to you. He was a young man who was a joy to be around. Sadly his life was cut short one week ago today when his truck crashed into a very thick and sturdy pine tree. I encourage you to read the story at the link below.

I was at Stuart's funeral on Saturday. The family, though grieving, comforted those who came to grieve with them. It was a Christ centered service for sure with close to a thousand in attendance. I marveled as our High School principle gave a strong and uncompromising challenge to the students present to repent and give their lives to Jesus Christ. Our football coach gave a similar appeal as he shared how last year he had the honor of leading Stuart to Christ. Please continue to pray for this family.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I will certainly be praying. Echoing CC1, certainly what a terribly tragic nightmare to have to walk through.

My heart aches for the family and I pray that many souls will come to God because of this.
