See, most people don't even care one bit about if their doctor is a thrice-divorced womanizer, or if their mechanic like porn, or if the guy at the fill-up station smokes dope, or whatever. They just want the best person for the job, regardless of morals.

But when it's government, suddenly everyone acts like they care and they get all up in arms over any perceived flaws in someone's moral character. Who cares if the mail-man is homosexual or drinks too much, he just delivers the mail, but the president, well, now it's time to care!
There also not the leader (s) of the country.

A vote NOT for trump is a whole lot worse. We are not voting for a pastor. I couldn't care any less if he is a hypocrite as long as he up holds the better for the country and Christian values

True, but not the point. The point is the hypocrisy of those who want to whack leaders of the country for all their perceived moral failures while giving everyone else a pass. It's bias, and as James calls it, partiality and respect of persons. And it is politically motivated, not actually motivated by a sense of morality.

Exactly! It gets amusing to hear people decide which party is more moral than the other.

Really. Sometimes this back and forth is like asking if I would rather have my tooth filled, or have a root canal. Is there a third option? Unfortunately, there is often only a choice of two, that I really don’t feel good about.

But I’m forever Trump. Unless a better option comes along. It isn’t looking likely.

Re: Can/Should Christians Be Democrats?

If the morality of political leaders does not matter, then Christians have no unique contribution to make to politics.

If morality is not important to believers, why should it be important to unbelievers ?

It would be nice to have both but it’s not the case. They are sinners why would I expect them to be able to be moral with all that power, money and no truth. We do have a contribution to politics and that is our vote that is why he is standing up for some of our values.

As a believer, I do not see DJT supporting any of my values.

Really? For starters have you not heard his stance on abortion? His backing of Jerusalem? His believing people should work and not be on welfare? Should I keep going?
