I tried the upgrade route with Photoshop already when I bought the CS4 (from CS2) one. Apparently the upgrades for individual products do not work when trying to upgrade a suite -even just the program in question. It took over 6 months to get my refund. I really cannot stand Adobe as a company..... They just make some of, if not THE best, media creation software bar none.
Yeah, the best can always afford to be arrogant. Their products are on a level that they really have no competition. I have been using their stuff since very early versions, I have tried Gimp and other programs that make the claim, but they don't deliver.

I hear you. I bought the last to latest version of Corel Paint and it can't hold a candle to any of the last 5 releases of Photoshop. Even just the overall performance of Corel Paint was extremely sluggish.

Randy, I use Corel PaintShop Pro X2. You're saying that CS5 is really alot better? Sell me, brother. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this. Seriously. I'm not looking to argue. I'm looking to learn. I use PaintShop ALOT, so I'm open to learning.
I'm also using ProShow Producer to make funeral DVD's. So far I absolutely LOVE it and can't find anything that even comes close. But I'm open to your opinion on that as well.

This is the version I have as well and while I WILL admit that I am much more familiar with Photoshop than paint it really feels like I am stepping down several notches in quality and polish (and features) when I go from CS2 (not even talking about CS5) to X2. The control it gives you over tone, saturation, not to mention the incredible layer control is unmatched. CS5 uppes it several more notches in almost all area's but especially two HUGE features, Content Aware Fill and Puppet Warp.
Getting old when all of the "E" words can be used interchangeably with such ease.
I'm just hoping to not be disappointed with the Elements package.
Elements is a great program. I just don't care for the extreme use of wizards in it and prefer to be just given a bunch of tools and have to figure out how to do everything myself. lol

I started out with Elements and graduated to CS4. I do like the extra control that I have with CS4, but Elements was much easier! It took a learning curve, but I'm now pretty comfortable with CS4 and prefer it over Elements.

ahh... I hate wizards. Better lock up the guns before I give this a try. Supposed to be here with the new laptop Friday.
