We all stand to get infected with covid-19 at some point. All of us. Our bodies have no immunity to this particular virus. Which is why they are working on a vaccination, but that won't happen for a period of time.
All of us will get covid-19, if not now, sometime in the future, or we will have to be vaccinated against it. There is no alternative scenario.
The social distancing is to slow down the infection rate so hospitals aren't overwhelmed. But the hospitals are going to be dealing with this for a long time. It's not going away, not unless either they find a medicine that cures it, or a vaccine to provide antibodies against it.
