Going back to the Virginia Tech shooting, the guy waited for a month after buying his first gun before buying the second one. Waiting periods might stop some reckless fools from doing something they'll regret, but it won't stop anyone with a truly murderous intent in their hearts.

Assault rifles should have tighter controls. Raise the minimum age to 21 or 25. Place a user fee of $5,000 on the purchase of AR-15 type weapons. Require a FF license to purchase assault weapons. Citizens with mental health issues should be banned from purchasing any firearm.

These are reasonable controls that do not infringe on the second amendment.

China has total gun control. And they had a knife attack that killed like over 20 people.

Hold on... the plan bars people under 21 from owning an assault rifle???

Young people can't legally go to a bar or strip club until they are 21... but they could purchase assault rifles while being under 21 years of age???

No matter how I look at it... banning things only complicates a killer's mission. It doesn't stop them.

Our schools are soft targets.

We need to harden them.

Every public school should be as secure as the federal buildings downtown. After all, our kids are just as important, if not more important, than government offices.
