Isaiah 28:11 and 1 Corinthians 14:21

This is commonly referred to in Pentecost by preachers, as the baptism of the Holyghost.

I heard it again just last night, when "motivating" folks to "get in the Spirit", and for folks that have not received the Holyghost, to receive it/him.

Are these 2 verses(the nt citing the ot one) what preachers say they are, namely that the verse(s) are genuinely referring to the infilling of Holyghost?

Re: Isaiah 28:11 and 1 Corinthians 14:21

1 Corinthians 14:21 In the Law it is written: "With other tongues and through the lips of foreigners I will speak to this people, but even then they will not listen to me, says the Lord."

22Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers; prophecy, however, is not for unbelievers but for believers. 23So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues, and inquirers or unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your mind? 24But if an unbeliever or an inquirer comes in while everyone is prophesying, they are convicted of sin and are brought under judgment by all, 25as the secrets of their hearts are laid bare. So they will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, “God is really among you!”

Re: Isaiah 28:11 and 1 Corinthians 14:21

The Isaiah reference is to foreign invaders used by God as an instrument of correction, but to no avail (Israel didn't listen).

Paul takes the principle and applies to a congregation speaking in tongues with no interpretation, resulting in no benefit to the visitor who doesn't understand what's happening.

Paul is saying "if you do this, all this tongue talking with no interpretation, then when a visitor comes in they will hear, but not listen, JUST LIKE IT SAYS IN THE PROPHET ISAIAH, and you don't want that cause its a bad thing."
