It is important to note that a dead church organization need not be losing members or be collapsing. The deadest Christian organization on earth is the Catholic church... and they are a rather successful organization that has many established members and are adding new ones every day.

A movement is dead when it departs from biblical truth to teach for doctrine the traditions of men.

But does that describe the UPCI? At this point in time, there is some debate on that.

I have heard this for over 50 years. Never been a member and never had a desire to. But this is absurd.

I think if you searched it out, you'll find many who think the UPCI is spiritually dead.

I don't think so. I know some very spiritually alive individuals in the UPCI. However, I do believe it is seriously struggling with the traditions of men being taught as doctrines at this point in time and excessive legislation that falls short of trusting the Holy Spirit.

Revival will come when the church is under such pressure it has no time to waste arguing over stupid things like beards and men wearing shorts.
