TJJJJJJJJ, exactly what I have been saying. I think the problem is that the cost of having highly trained special forces ride on each ship for the weeks it takes to transit makes the price untenable.
However you don't need very highly trained security people to thwart Somail pirates. Just some regular ex Army - Marine types who earned a sniper badge and some decent rifles / machine guns / etc.
I think a few ex Marine's with a few weapons could take out just about any pirate attack force.
