Testifying among the saints is to bear witness and share something the Lord has done in a person's life. As such, testimonies exhort, edify, or comfort those who hear them, and as such, fall under the realm of prophesying, which women are allowed by the Lord to do in the church.

For real.
Lord have mercy... yes I know, I've heard some wild testimonies but this would be a gasper

Interesting... that "preach at" comment. I can think of a few examples where that happened, but it was usually the pastor's wife doing that. Nevertheless, I agree that it should be used as a time to encourage and uplift the body, and not as a venting station.

Yes, I agree with this.

I know that there is no record in scripture, that I know of, that speaks of the traditional "testifying" that takes place in the church. I would say the closest place that would come close would be here:

1Co 14:26 What should you do then, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each one has a song, has a lesson, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all these things be done for the strengthening of the church.

Okay... Lol!
I've seen both men and women use the platform as a method and means of control to "preach at" others.

Women give testimonies, sing ,pray and prophesying. Also Mothers (elderly women) teach younger women to be "teachers to their children" too.
"Testimony of a woman, who was for 43 years a "preacher" and now repents!

I would say... once a preacher always a preacher... after watching this video... bless her heart, she still has her preacher voice!

Probably the extreme negativism that pervades this forum more than anything. That does bother me a lot.

I actually like to read some things that you write and would be right there to pray for you and your family. So, I regret some of the personal potshots I have made toward you. I should let you express yourself and not comment if I don’t agree.
