Today's message at my church- Judgment is coming to America

one of our associates taught the adult class today and told how the LOrd spoke to him as clearly as he has ever heard his voice. it was not just a thought but it was a word from the LOrd that America is getting ready for a time of Great sorrow.

when this person hears from the Lord I sit up and listen. He really hears from God and our pastor trust him too. He is not fluff, just a plain guy a straight shooter. He;'s told me things and it was always on

anyhow, he said he say a time coming soon when no one will be flying anywhere, no one will be taking holidays, all the planes will be empty, the vacation resorts will be empty, it will be a time of great terror.

I am sitting here trying to remember all that he said . I'll post more as it comes but it really has shaken me up. somehow I felt a witness in my spirit that this was true.
I was in San francisco Yesterday and i kept saying and thinking " Lord how long are you going to let all this sin go on and let our nation get by with this" and then here we are with today's bible study. I guess that was my answer.

the nation and church will be Judged according to this minister for the sins of our nation

any thoughts ? is this too negative to talk about ?

I don't think so Thad ... I too feel a judgment coming soon ... and a subsequent persecution of the American church ...

What? No revival talk? How come negative messages and talk like this is what gives us pause? Are we so afraid of losing our comfort zone that we are only sobered by bad news?

Ever since 9-11 it seems like there are many doomsday prophets running around. They have said that Saddam and Osama Bin have brought more people to church than any combination of preachers.

Newsflash: In the world ye shall have tribulation, but been of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.

I don't buy being spiritually motivated through fear, nor am I going to live a chicken little lifestyle, however, I can and predict with 100% certainty that....things are going to change.

I trust the goodness of God and serve him with gladness. I refuse to be ruled or managed by fear.

Carp my church is not one that is constantly hammered on Doom and gloom it doesn't go over well here but this time was different I just felt it in my spirit.
He did tell the church that all of this was actually good news. It often took Judgment for israel to turn back to the God of their fathers. it's human nature

I believe this too Carp, but I also think some are "too comfortable" and don't have the depth in their spiritual walk that they need to substain a tribulation.

The Spirit and the bride say, "Come." And let the one who hears say, "Come." And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost

I agree, there is a need for retrospect, examination, and spiritual introspection, but really, I have been hearing apocalyptic bad news since I have been in the church and frankly, I don't buy the emotional pull that gives it its legs.

There is a call, a need for consistent and constant examination, levelheaded reasoning, and not emotional, run-to the altar tonight because the sky is falling!!!!

When I hear this junk being spewed to Young people it really gets under my skin! Young people are impressionable and their futures are already uncertain enough with out people, preachers constantly telling them they have nothing to live for (in essence) so they should get to the altar NOW!
