The ones who are tired are who? Me? Let it be burned into memory so when you do your Christian act here we can remember that it is an act.

Most definitely, while he was in Ukiah California his outreach was to young whites, and blacks. His church profited from the Jesus movement. JJ's headquarters were in San Francisco, and had outreaches throughout the state. Laughable? Pathetic? He had over 20,000 people, and killed 900 in Guyana. He was the cool sunglass wearing Roman collar preacher in Cali. Oh, I forgot you don't read many books.

Describe MKU.
To me it was just a good testimony of a guy giving glory to Jesus.

No one in the Jesus Movement ever mentioned Jim Jones. I heard rumors he had been "Apostolic".
Yes, laughable to try to tie him to the Jesus Movement.
More than anyone else the movement could be traced back to David Wilkerson.
For the first 5 years of my walk I read several books a week. After I became Apostolic that dropped greatly. Since 1980 I probably have not bought more than 20 books.
I do read internet articles of interest. Nonetheless I have read a great deal of available material about the Jesus movement as well as experiencing it first hand.

Lonnie Frisbee was homosexual since 13 years old. He was part of the Homosexual scene in California. During an LSD trip out in the desert he read the book of John (so we are told). He was a convenient tool at the right moment. He was introduced to Chuck Smith (whose Calvary Chapel in Fort Lauderdale) just lost their pastor Bob Coy, who is a pervert. Through Chuck Smith they used Lonnie Frisbee to gather in a body count. MKUltra is CIA mind control project where the CIA use certain groups and leaders. The Calvary Chapel group Churches are huge. People are taught an ideology which is more Vedanta then it is Gospel. You bring up giving glory to Jesus? I find no where in the Bible where hypocrisy gives glory to God. Lonnie Frisbee was having homosexual relations on Saturday, and preaching Jesus on Sunday. He dies with full blown AIDS in 1993.

I know about Frisbee. I see nothing wrong in what he said in that clip. They are and were plenty of weak believers around. Some so much so we might not be able to tell if they were a believer or not. He was not someone I ever heard of until the movement was over.
I have not seen a shred of evidence about your CIA inventing the Jesus movement claim.

Mike, you didn't even know what it is, so how on earth could you identify it?
Nation of Islam was helped by the CIA. They went to many different leaders and groups to use their mind control experimentation. War of the Worlds radio program wasn't an accident, it was done on purpose. Someone posted an Andy Warhol quote which states that everything in movies are to manipulate the viewer to "do as they say" Same thing with the Jesus Freak Movement, it was to take us away from "decent" clean America. To an ecclesiastical dirty hippy Christianity which covers the land today. Sometimes people don't smell the litter box filled with cat urine because they live with it for so long. Mike, you may not see the MKU in the Jesus Freak Movement because you are too far down that rabbit hole. Missy Edwards and some of her more cringy dark music. Music you are ok with. So, I guess it works.

Talk is cheap Mike.
He had religion but when you weren't watching he was partaking in strange flesh.

Those where the honest ones, I'm pointing out the ones who built huge followings. Who everyone believed were legit, but were wolves devouring the flock. While guys like you were sitting cross leg on the floor singing "I gave my love a cherry"

There were ones more flipped out and smarter then Lonnie. Bob Mumford, and the witch Derek Prince.

Re: Intentional Communities:
It appears that the more power belongs to one man in an intentional community, the more authoritarian they tend to be. Not unlike churches. However, the more democratic a community is, the more above board they tend to be.
Anyone know much about the Bruderhof Communities? Each community is autonomous in day to day administration, but bishops/elders are appointed over each. They take each communities convictions and tend to allow self-govenment, but have power to lay aside a community's decisions if they contradict the overall vision of the Bruderhof Community.

Neither of them were part of the Jesus Movement. They were in the Charismatic movement. Their shepherding teaching was accepted by a few, but thats the extent of their involvment.

As Christians each Church should consider themselves as a community and not just people who attend the same Church building.

Hey MTD I just opened up a Twitter account for my YouTube channel. And I typed in Apostolic, and guess who popped up? I tried to pm this to you but couldn't send the pic of the screenshot. So I put it here so you could see. I say you go and ask him where he got his information for the facial hair. Because I believe in being shaven but not for any of the reasons he said in that book. That was at best misinformed information.
Sorry to bother yalls thread. Carry on!!
