I would think he is more angry than afraid... he already knows his eternal fate & that is why he is working in every manner possible to take as many of we human with him as he is able.

Surely that, too--but delaying as long as possible any literal onset of it. It is easy to think that the forces of good are holding back Armageddon, when in I'm pretty sure we're supposed to bring it.

Satan is not afraid of the last battle fought, he will be the one that will cause it.

In his mind he does not accept the fact that he will lose in the end, he doesn't believe God and never has.

In his mind he is God and is struggling to regain his position, and more.

He still believes that he can defeat the heavenly hosts.

I thought the same thing until yesterday; now I'm imaging a naughty child faced with a stern Father, we'll say, and have to disagree. satan is scared to death of Armageddon, he knows the Bible by heart, and although he surely lacks discernment he doesn't lack fear of God, I'm pretty sure.

satan is not stupid, and knows Armageddon is his downfall. he will do anything to postpone it, so he can do some more killing. The standard model of Christians keeping Armageddon at bay is a lie, imo. Or it's true--Armageddon will never come as long as Christians are divided, and believe they should fear Armageddon.

I'd like to see some Scripture for either pov, as I have none, but please consider this pov. If you like, maybe you can find Scripture for the common view, and I'll look for the other side? It'll be tonight though--and you may very well be right, as this is totally off the Res, as far as I know.

I'll open with "Don't be scared of satan, what he might do to you..." paraphrased, extended to "Don't be scared of Armageddon..."

Yup. Or something. satan will never willingly bring Armageddon to us directly, imo.

Not sure if he is scared of Armageddon but he certainly knows his end and wants to do as much as possible to destroy others. I do think he feels like he has a chance of defeating God or he wouldn't bother but I think deep down inside him he knows he hasn't got a chance. BUT like most who believe they can win against the odds he will give it his best shot, almost like a slap in the face to God saying, "Just look at the people I have turned from you" kind of thing.
