The Need, the Bean and the Cup

I have been reading about remission,

trust, faith, works, forgiveness, justification,

grace - to do - to be - to believe - to accept, why, why not...

This thread is not about that.

I just want to say that I have yet again been found worthy.

Yup another coffee thread.

Even a wanna-be coffee connoisseur knows the three major components (three stepper - if you will) of a fine cup of brew.

The art of coffee begins with

Finest BEANS

Freshest ROAST

Freshest GRIND

For many decades I have had an affection for great BEANS.

About ten years ago I moved on and began to GRIND my own BEANS.

TODAY I found myself worthy to get the ROASTER!

I am now a full fledged three stepper! I tell you the cup is not fully complete without one of these components!

Enjoy the cup, and please, drink responsibly!

Re: The Need, the Bean and the Cup

LUWAK COFFEE $400 per lb.

The individual beans are naturally glued together in the stomach of the Luwak, there is no artificial adhesive involved, yet kopi luwak collected in this fashion appears remarkably clean and is completely odour free. A bagful of freshly collected kopi luwak in its natural state is brittle and needs to be transported carefully to avoid ending up as individual beans, which are generally unacceptable to Animalcoffee.

To obtain beans while still in this state they must be collected almost immediately after they are deposited on the forest floor. Once they have been exposed to the elements for even a very short period, particularly in the rainy season, they break down into individual beans and we can no longer be sure that they are genuine kopi luwak.

It's very interesting actually. I know someone who tried it. I guess I would too if it were not $400 a lb!

Re: The Need, the Bean and the Cup

OK.... regarding the ROASTER... I just roasted the first batch and we are drinking a pot of coffee that roasted, ground and brewed in less than 30 minutes!

Tastes great!
