Hello everyone. I am new here and I have been reading some of the replies on this particular topic. Here is my 2 cents....

Jesus said "....Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. (
John 3:4-5)
With this being said, why do people believe that simply repenting is enough? I am not putting down anyone else's beliefs, but it seems so simple that Jesus meant one would have to be baptized (of the water) and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (of the Spirit) before he could go to Heaven.
I know some people may say that 'of the water and of the spirit' doesn't literally mean baptism and the infilling of the Holy Ghost, and means something else symbolically. But why try to complicate things? It seems so much more simple to understand it as He said it.
Someone else may have already mentioned this and questioned it, but this topic is sooooooo long it would take me a month to read everything on it.
