Re: Justice Scalia is dead
The number one symptom or sign of a heart attack is death.
I understand his family's desire to not have an autopsy done, but to not have it done will cause all sorts of confusion and conspiracy. It is in the best interests of the American people to know how/why he died.

Please quote where I said it was a bad thing. Never said it. The reason I never did is because I AGREE with it.
No lame duck President should appoint a lifetime SCOTUS Justice with 8 months left until election day.
I believe the same with the so-called nuclear option. Trent Lott barely mentioned it in passing and Harry Reid and the Democrats flipped out. Called it unconstitutional.
Fast forward to a couple years ago when Reid not only talked about it but went through and installed it.
I don't like the Dems using it, but I agree with the option. Just as I agree with the GOP following the precedent set by the Dems and doing everything possible to stall or delay obama's SCOTUS Justice nominee from getting a vote.
Understand, the court is even now at 4-4. No way will obama appoint a moderate. He will appoint someone far left of center, who believes the Constitution is a living document and will side against the 2nd Amendment, against religious choice and freedoms and for unrestricted abortions and every other liberal cause.

Dem Senator Schumer wanted an 18-month block on SCOTUS Justice nominations in 2007, during W's lame duck year. He argued it should extend even into the next possible GOP Presidency, with which I do not agree.
I find it interesting and astounding the hypocrisy of politics...both sides. Where one side does something while in control of Congress, but then screams bloody murder when the other side talks of doing the same now that they're in power.

Re: Justice Scalia is dead
Apparently he was found 'with a pillow over his head', according to the hotel owner. Also, there will be no autopsy. Also, he was found by hotel staff, the federal marshals or Secret Service responsible for him apparently sent hotel staff to 'check on him'.
But of course, nothing here is out of the ordinary, move along, nothing to see here.

Re: Justice Scalia is dead
“God assumed from the beginning that the wise of the world would view Christians as fools … and he has not been disappointed. … If I have brought any message today, it is this: Have the courage to have your wisdom regarded as stupidity. Be fools for Christ. And have the courage to suffer the contempt of the sophisticated world.” (Justice Scalia - Speech at Living the Catholic Faith conference, 2012.)

No Republican Senator will keep their seat if they don't block whoever Obama nominates for Scalia's place.

Texas statute requires the Justice of the Peace to order an inquest if the death is not attended by a physician. Art 49.04 #6.
