Apostolic Preppers

Two of my friends in Idaho are making an end time place of refuge. Interesting for anyone who may be thinking along these lines.

Re: Apostolic Preppers

Thanks, but I'll just drive up north to Lake Superior. Living off the grid is easy until winter sets in.

Re: Apostolic Preppers

Idaho sounds like it is a popular place for the off gridders and preppers.
We just canned some green beans and that's about the extant of our prepping.

Yea David and Jeremy are all in. We have canned food for 3-6 months depending on if we are alone or have guests. They are planning ahead for years, just in case.

Re: Apostolic Preppers

I have a non-Apostolic relative who appeared on the TV show Doomsday Preppers. He feels the country is headed for a massive collapse. What future scenarios do folks on this forum foresee that would justify making these kinds of preparations?

Our current infrastructure is aging, if terrorists were smart, they would find a way to take down our energy grid. 3 days w/o water and you are basically dead.

Financial collapse, civil war, war with other nations. Persecution against Christians.

Re: Apostolic Preppers

I always thought that if somebody has food in storage, and there is food scarcity in the USA, they will be the target of robbers and violent assaults.
I believe that bullets are going to become the currency in case of total collapse ; and I'm not talking metaphorical here, but very literally.

Re: Apostolic Preppers

I also believe, that if USA collapses real bad, it is going to turn into an extremely violent society. People don't have the Christian values they used to, and there are a lot very powerful weapons owned by many. Expect an increase of armed robbery, of food and weapons, and expect militias formation, and deadly confrontation between them for basic resources. If people are not used to living without electricity, cars and such, I can't imagine the desperation that will arise if a collapse happens. And with desperation comes temptation to turn to evil. It won't be pretty at all. You wish you are not around if that happens.
God has mercy.
