Because it’s not a gift you can turn on and off as you please but only when God allows it. A lot of times I have operated in the spirit of discernment but it’s not a switch that I turn on and off only when God allows. I have never interpreted tongues but from my understanding from people that have when the other person is operating in the gift of tongues they are hearing in their own language not actually understanding a different language.

There would be no point. If it needed to be said again somewhere else he would just use the whole gift again. He doesn’t need a pre recorded tongues.

How do those with the inclination to speak in tongues in church know that their tongues will be interpreted immediately after by someone with the gift of interpreting tongues? How is that arranged?

It’s called being sensitive to the spirit. I have been used in the gift of tongues before. When someone begins to operate in that gift of tongues the church quiets down ( generally it’s a little more forceful if I could put it that way.) , another will give tongues and sometimes one more and then the interpretation comes forth.

The true gift of tongues should be impressive to unbelievers. Understandably, there is nothing truly impressive about the ability to speak gibberish. I want to know why God never allows anyone to interpret recorded tongues.

I would love to know what you're talking about, honestly I would. Please forgive me for not reading the entire thread. But, I still cannot understand what you are saying? On the day of Pentecost did everyone hear the same language? Or did they all hear specific languages of each territory in the Roman occupied Middle East Acts 2:8? Also, when Cornelius' household spoke in tongues who was their you translated what was being said Acts 10:44-48? What languages were present? With the disciples of John who were re-baptized by Paul, who was present to hear any different languages Acts 19:6? The Bible doesn't fill all details, but brings up important events and issues we need to know and remember. So, why aren't different languages translated by the witnesses who came with Peter, and with those who were with Paul?
