Yes, I had heard that earlier also, but when his cousin called in, the news
man mentioned that he understood he had recently converted to Islam. His
cousin said, "He's always been Muslim".

Well, Keith's cousin was on base when the shooting occurred today.
I thank God Jonathan is alright! He was doing some exercises across the base from where the shooting was.
He has a few close calls, but never on American soil. Regardless, his mother's prayers were mostly likely greatly appreciated!

I've been gone all day and caught the "newly" on the radio. Didn't hear the rest of it. But, IMO, it doesn't really matter. He was still a Muslim and he shot and wounded a whole lot of soliders who were getting ready to be deployed.
IMO, he was sending a message. If he was worried about himself going overseas, he could have just shot himself.
Perhaps he thought he might as well do some honor killing to earn his 70 virgins. Today, after he died, he found out the truth and it was too late.

Very glad to hear it, Liz.
My son's friend, David, called me from Manheim, Germany yesterday. He is very lonely. I reminded him of when God touched him in such a powerful way last time he was in service with us. He showed up in jeans with holes in the knees and when he was praying his knees were just shaking away! LOL! He said he had his Bible by the bedside. Keep David in your prayers. He goes to Afghanistan next.

The shooter is not dead. He is wounded and alive. He was apparently shot by a female first responder. And they are not ruling out that he is a terrorist.

Perhaps this is why they kept postponing the press conference this
afternoon. When they started the press conference out of Ft. Hood,
the first thing the spokesman said was that the shooter was not dead,
but wounded. Someone asked about his condition and although the man
said he couldn't comment on his condition or anything more about Major
Hasan. He did say that the shooter's death was probably not iminant. He
is in stable condition.
