OP, there are much more intelligent representations and arguments from the anti-TV camp. This letter isn't one of them. It's a cheer leading letter, with about as much depth. It accomplishes its purpose among those it is intended to cheer on, but to post it as an argument against tv? Or to persuade others to its point of view? Doesn't work.

His words are being critiqued, and that's okay. It would be no different whether a preacher had written it or not.
Reminder to folks: The focus should stay on the letter and not on the man. Thanks!

Threads like these make me wish WWOD was still here. At least approach the topic with a logical argument.

We Need TV
We cant preach against Over Eating for obvious reasons
We cant preach against cut hair and makeup because we have" transitional" saints that are coming along and we cant run the risk of offending them or losing them
we cant preach against internet because we all have it
we are running out of issues
sodomy (politically incorrect and there might be one in our church)
divorce and remarriage(how many of us are untouched by this one?)
golf
bowling
skating
imax
dvd's
sports
etc
We need TV It is the last bastion of who we are. If we dont at least have that then we are floundering for an issue and we might end up having to preach relationship, soulwinning, and
unity, holiness, using your time wisely, kindness, matters of the heart, fruits of the spirit, the beauty of the name.

Are you of the general opinion or the idea that preachers are above scrutiny and critique?
