My wife has/had PTSD and the fear of her killing herself was a constant fear for me...Had MAJOR self harm issues and will carry severe scars for the rest of her life.

I'm mischievous as heck and have a wicked sense of humor but I don't mess with people about that sort of thing and you wouldn't either had you ever worked calls like that like I have and have any sort of empathy.

It's not us you need to apologise to....Make it right with him and God.
