There has to be more than simply water baptism, even in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Repentance from dead works and faith toward God need to be present. Fruit meet for repentance, demonstrating a true change in heart and mind, coupled with an inner conviction regarding Jesus and the Gospel, a confession that He is Lord, the Christ and Son of God.

I've seen lot of people just get wet, going into the water for whatever reason other than the right, saving reason, which is, to have the body of their sins destroyed, which is remission or cancellation of sin debt against the Father.

We have to be more discerning in our attempts to win people to the Lord, and not rush past key elements of salvation.
