Is it biblical to vote for leaders?

Re: voting for pastors

This topic is much deeper than it would appear on the surface.

Re: voting for pastors

The NT does not say much about pastors and nothing about how to choose them or how long they should be the pastor.

Voting/elections are a reflection of influence on our faith by our culture.

Agree, sort of.

An Biblical example that I can think of would be the casting of lots to take the place of Judas.
And the appointing of those to "wait tables" or minister to the widows.

Exactly, they had a system in place to allow the Holy Ghost to choose.

Re: voting for pastors

Replacing an apostle was done via drawing lots. Whatever that was.

The table waiters were selected by the believers and were approved by the apostles.

The council of Jerusalem was led by the apostles.

Looks like apostles made the decisions in Acts.

Which leaves us in a pickle. I have never met one. Anywhere.

Now what do we do ?

Re: voting for pastors

Acts 14:23 in my Portuguese Bible uses the word voted...English says ordained....I was wondering which is correct?
