Let's make a deal!?!?!?
Often it seems that life is several different thing rolled into one gigantic organism. Part of all that is tied into life is our spiritual walk. Although it should take the front seat we often shove it to the back seat, to the trunk, or forget it altogether.
Likewise in life is seems like a series of trades, like trading youth for experience or trading a limited mentality for wisdom. Every day we are trading. Trade sleep and rest for work and exhaustion. We trade time off for vactions that are more work than our actual job is.
Trading has been around in all dispensations of time. There has been trades made for clothing, food, housing and such. Last year a man on Craigslist.com made several trades. He started trading a paper clip for another item then worked his way all the way until he made a trade for a house. A house! Free and clear title and all someone traded their house for something he had that they wanted.
Life is a series or several series' of trades. Everyone on this forum can agree that we always make trades for things we care for. We trade money for items like a kitchen knife that ca cut steel and then cut an onion and guarentee no tears. Crazy trades seem to be made more so than wise trades.
When I was a young boy I really didn't grasp the full concept of trading. I heard a little story of sorts from Don McCool, father of Greg McCool about Indian Joe. The story goes that Indian Joe comes to a tent revival and chooses to follow Christ and in true Indian or Native American fashion begans to try and trade God for the Holy Ghost. First a pipe then a knife and blanket and so on, until he realized the God wanted Joe's life instead of trivial things.
Once Joe realizes this he submits to God and trades sorrow and shame for promise for a greater future. We do this too. When we come to Christ for the first time or maybe the final time there is a trade or deal that is made. God pours on us his spirit and we deal to Him our lives, sins and all. However, as it often goes we become an Indian trader and take back our lives and we also take back our sins and shames. Any street market owner will tell you this is bad business and we are not trading or dealing fair. Why do we operate this way?
The time has come and now is that we must make a deal. We must make a trade once and for all. I feel that time is coming to an end and real deal must take place. I believe Monty Hall was the host of "Let's Make A Deal." In that show there were several doors to choose from and each door contained a prize great or not so great. This deal we will make has 1 door and 1 key that works that door. The key is the Cross. The door opens to enternal life and joy everlasting. The deal is open for takers. Are you ready to make a deal? If you have made a similar transaction before, but chose to take your life and all the trappings back to yourself then the transaction was voided. Please note this transaction is not a discount transaction. Infact the price has been paid already all one has to do is accept the terms of the trade/deal/purchase.
Do you accept that today? Have you made a voided transaction once, twice one hundered times? Well you are in luck today. There is a way through the owner of the whole company that the deal can be made. It is up to you to choose the term of the agreement? Are you willing to make the trade for all the rest of time? If so, God says, "Let's Make A Deal!"
