Bama Player: Speaking in Tongues Helped Win Game

Bama Player Says Speaking in Tongues Helped Him Win the Game

Minutes after throwing the game-winning touchdown pass in Monday night's College Football Playoff National Championship game in Atlanta, Alabama Tua Tagovailoa wasn't hesitant to give God the credit.

"I was praying," Tagovailoa says. "I was speaking in tongues. It kept me calm."

He continued: "I would say my poise comes from my faith. I just pray for peace."

Re: Bama Player: Speaking in Tongues Helped Win Ga

I don't think that the speaking in tongues had anything to do with winning the game directly.

Personally, I don't believe God cares who wins or who loses a football game.

However, I don't doubt that praying and speaking in tongues calmed Tua Tagovailoa. Prayer and speaking in tongues can bring a sense of peace and calm us in all we do. Praying before a big college test can still the mind and give one the peace necessary to think more clearly and thereby help one pass the test. But it doesn't ensure that one will automatically pass the test. And so, prayer and speaking in tongues may have been what helped Tua Tagovailoa remain calm and focused enough to make the winning play. It contributed to Tua Tagovailoa well being, and that indirectly may have effected the game.

So, if you're absolutely terrible at a sport, don't assume that praying and speaking in tongues will automatically give you what you need to play like a pro and dominate your opponents. It might only give you the peace and calm to keep your wits about you and not get hurt. lol
