Pakistan public opinion turning against Taliban

ISLAMABAD - The footage was chilling — a woman crying out in pain, held face-down on the ground, as a man with a long beard flogged her in front of a crowd.

It could be the video that changed Pakistan.

The power of human decency in response to the cries of the suffering can do more change a nation than bombs and guns.

Pray for this woman...pray for Pakistan.

Re: Pakistan public opinion turning against Taliba

The radicals just bombed an area that killed a lot of other muslims including a moderate cleric. This is making them even more resentful of the Taliban. The cleric stood up and spoke out against the Taliban.

Now, if only they would start treating Christians fairly

Pakistani police reportedly found the body of Tariq "Litto" Mashi Ghauri — a 28-year-old university student in Sargodha, Pakistan — lying dead in a canal outside a rural village in Punjab Province on May 15. He had been raped and stabbed at least five times.

"They have sexually abuse him, torture him with a knife on his testicle and genitals," Ghauri's brother, 24-year-old Salman Nabil Ghauri, said. "They have tortured him very badly, and after that they have stabbed five times with a knife and killed him."

Sadly events like these are par for the course for any Christian living in Pakistan. There's little we can do to change their cultural mores and laws. However, a Christian can either accept that painful reality or leave the Country as Christians did Jerusalem prior to the Roman invasions of 70 A.D. Our only real hope is that events like these stimulate change. But it's obviously not going to happen overnight. The man's a martyr.

*Of course many Apostolics would deny that he's even a true Christian if he isn't following our Western Pentecostal tradition.*

Unfortunately leaving the country was then easier than it is today with border control and all. What country will take them?

Good point.

Remember the good ol' days when you could flee the flames of persecution or a bloody invasion? What's this world coming to?
