Consider this: Straight Outta Compton was #1 at the box office this past weekend. It made over $13 million. The War Room came in at #2, making a little over $11 million.
Here's the incredible part: SOC was shown at 3,142 while TWR was shown at 1,135 (over 2,000 less). The average from each location was $4k for SOC, while the average for TWR was just over $10K!
Had more theaters been willing to show TWR, I'm sure it would have been a record-breaking weekend for a faith-based movie.
Unfortunately, the nearest theaters is about 30 to 45 minutes away from where we live.
