I want to tell the Cons this, and I don't mean any disrespect, but
perhaps our churches are not grounding people good enough?
seems like a lot of our churches are lacking in teaching like
there was in years past.
So much preaching is geared towards numbers and church
growth, revival meetings and pep rally type messages.
The reason I say that, I grew up with a lot of UPCers ( preachers
kids!) who know almost nothing about the bible! I'm no bible expert
but neither am I illiterate in the word

I mean, just look at the hubbub that's been raised on this very forum over what was posted at another forum!
Look at the pictures that circulate, and all the gossip that goes with it.
Yes, I've stated it very clearly to you that I don't appreciate all the gossip threads you start, but my comment was referring to ALL the junk that floats around the internet.

Mark, I'm not arguing your statement one way or another, but I'd really like to know if this is a general consensus among the disgruntled Cons or if this was just one or two of them sharing their thoughts.
And, I'd have to agree with others, I think the reasons many of them left are TOTALLY different than what some may be indicating.
Just my opinion tho, I have no backing for this other than my own gut feeling.
I dont think disgruntled is the right word.

Some just need to conquerour and control their own stink'n flesh and they'd be kept busy for awhile. And I think that goes for those on the left, the right and some in the middle. [This is not to the exclusion of myself either.]
