We plant tomatoes, peppers and sometimes cucumbers.

Any other fresh veggies come from someone else's hard labor. A man at our church has multiple produce stands-- and they plant "truck patches" of veggies. We get great deals from him... and put up the veggies ourselves.
It sure beats having to slave all summer fighting grass with a hoe in the garden.

Our water here is cheap, & plentiful.

We've had many big gardens with my FIL. I got to put in a big investment of sweat equity. But it was worth it come harvest time. We also have canned many a quart. And made pickels.

My garden spot, last year, was in a low spot and got too much water. I just had a small plot. We are planning on putting in a garden this year.

If you are planning of storing up for "hard times" you'd be better off buying up enough rice, flour, and dried beans to hold you over until a good garden harvest would be ready. And nope I don't have any stored up, but with hurricane season coming we probably will.

I have been thinking about growing some banana peppers this year. Because of where I live I would have to do it in a 5 gallon bucket, but I love the taste of those sweet banana peppers. Yummmy!
