I heard about this through a friend, and don't know the family at all personally, but I've been following this story since hearing about it, and it is incredibly sad.
A link below provides more information, but this young man was a firefighter, married just a year, and wife expecting a baby in two months.
They returned home from Thanksgiving holidays to see a blue car in their driveway. Marcus took his wife to a neighbor's house first, and then came back to investigate. Upon learning he was interrupting a burglary, he called 911, and while trying to drive away, was shot at 6 times, with one of the bullets lodging in his brain. It is possible that a gun he kept in the house was used to shoot him. He has been on life support since, and passed away today after the family made the decision to unplug life support.
Please pray for his family, especially his wife, and unborn child.
